Stripe dresses are really on trend right now.  I'm loving the potential of this piece for layering it with a blazer, cardigan, a chunky knit sweater and switching up the foot wear with knee high boots.

In My Ears - Kimbra

My friend recently told me about Australian artist Kimbra.  I love her funky style and jazzy tone. 

Check out a couple of live performances where she really dives deep and sings with her entire body and soul.

Kimbra is on tour right now, so check here to see if she is coming to your city, I'm sure it would be a great experience.

Summer Wrap Up 2012

It is the offical start of Fall, my favorite season as you all know, and I am so excited.  Here are my favorite looks from this past Summer.

Burgundy

I wore this to the The Liberation tour with Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo and Melanie Fiona at the United Center on Thursday night.  Good show, just wish Mary would have sang more of her own songs. You know when the singer points the microphone to the audience while they revel in the fact that we know their lyrics.  Am I the only one that hates that? I paid to hear you live, not to hear thousands of people sing "I'm Going Down."
Anyway I digress.  I am fully embracing the burgundy/cranberry trend.  I now have a burgundy dress to add to my collection and a burgundy sweater I will feature later on in the season.

And later at the United Center by my man Scottie Pippen's statue. Confession:  I had a huge crush on him back in the day and kind of still do.

In My Ears - Heather Headley

Here is a preview of Heather Headley recording music for "The Bodyguard" musical.  I've always been a big fan of hers, but hearing her hit these notes...chills.  I would love nothing more than to fly to London to hear and see her perform these, but hopefully this show travels to the States.  Enjoy the snippets.

Lunch Time Snaps - The Waters Edge

I am so grateful that I get to work so close to such beautiful scenery in Chicago.  I am able to take in great architecture as well as the wonders of nature.  So now I invite you along on a recent walk during my lunch hour.

Chicago's FNO Recap

I started my bar hop Fashion's Night Out at Water Tower Place at the "In Fashion Lounge,"  complete with gift bag, DJ, cocktails, and M Burgers.

Next I went down a few levels to Macy's and met The Girls of Lincoln Park, very sweet and stylish ladies.  Check out their blog.

Live music at Free People. 

A little taste of Italy with wine and music. 

I then headed over to the 900 Shops.  I had no plan, just headed up the escalator to the sound of chatter and music. 

What do you know!  I got into walked right into the VIP section filled with socialites, bites, cocktails and where a fashion show was soon to take place hosted by Ali Larter (loved her in Heroes).

I took a ton of pictures of the looks but I'll only show my favorites.  Again, lots of leather and burgundy shown for this Fall.

After the fashion show I rushed off to Saks Fifth Avenue to see what was going on there.  DJ, manicures, drinks, and pretty people, dominated the scene here.

It occurred to me I'd better get a snap of my outfit.  So here ya go, me in the Saks bathroom.  So glam I am.   I wanted to be comfortable as I scooted along Michigan Avenue, and I'm so glad I chose flats instead of heels.

For my last stop I made a beeline for Nordstrom before it closed.  The aisles of The Shops of Northbridge were lined with fashionable models in equally fashionable settings.

Nordstrom didn't shut down til 9:00 (others closed at 8) so I had plenty of time for another cocktail, more music, and some sweet bites all courtesy of Cole Haan.

This was so refreshingly good!

After that I did head home.  I must say, Chicago really stepped their game up for FNO this year.  This is my 3rd FNO and I believe next year will be even better.
