High On Heels

I wore this out last Saturday night to dinner with my sister and friend for some tasty Jamaican food.  These are the kind of high heels that get worn when I know I'm going from car to a chair.

Randolph Market Festival

This past Saturday I went to the Randolph Market Festival season opener.  Comfort was the key since I ended up walking and shopping for 2.5 hours.

It was a gorgeous sunny day in the West Loop neighborhood.  Outdoors were vintage and handmade goods as far as the eye could see. 

These pieces below were made of recycled inner tube rubber, how clever and resourceful.  Check out the shop at:  Very Moderne.

Then to cool off and for more shopping, I moved inside to the air conditioned warehouse for even more clothes, sunglasses, coats, hats, bags, furniture, you name it. 

You definitely have to go with a list of what you are searching for because you will go broke picking random things that are rare and just beautiful.  I was focused on clothing of course, so I purchased a skirt and a dress I can't wait to show you guys.

This is one of my favorite vintage finds.  The blouse has little white polka dots on it and the layered flutter sleeves just make it really special to me.

{Pause} For Look Of The Day

Today's look of the day is from a street style photo shot by the awesome Stefano at The Street Fashion 5xpro blog.  I'm always inspired by his street style photos, as he is known for capturing unique individuals.  Check out his blog for even more inspiration.

This look can be easily recreated with all the variety of colors of slacks in retail shops now.   Take a small scarf and tie it  in a bow with a simple button down shirt, add your favorite sneaks, a funky belt (blazer optional) and you are good to go.  A nice way to jazz up the casual.

Hey there.  How is everyone?  I'm back at the office after a couple days off.  Took Friday off and Monday our offices were closed due to the activity going on in the city.  It was a nice restful time off and I got to take my nephews to the park, eat at a Mexican restaurant I've been wanting to try for the longest, explore my neighborhood, and check out Burlington Coat Factory, a store I rarely get to visit.  I got this dress on clearance for $19.99 since it was missing the belt.  Ok for me since I have a few of my own to pair with it.

I have been looking for a dress this shade of blue for a very long time.  I always seem to find the best things when I go into stores on a whim with no real mission on finding anything in particular.  This dress is my favorite cut and style to wear because of it's classic figure flattering shape, and the skinny belt it came with just made it perfect.  And check out the detail at the top!   

My lip color is a combination of Revlon's lasting shimmer mineral lipglaze (love!) and Revlon's Orange Flip lipstick.  Shout out to Dhalia for featuring this beautiful color.  This lipstick will be my summer shade staple.

Sidenote:  As I was doing the search to link the dress, I found that it comes in several other beautiful jewel tone colors (teal, purple, red).  I ended up buying the purple color with a 10% off discount code from the The Chic Savant blog.

Sunny Days

The weather has been gorgeous these past few days and it's finally feeling like Spring consistently. So that put me in the mood to wear a bright color and bare the legs.
