Sushi Station

Last weekend I went to a restaurant in Rolling Meadows, Illinois called Sushi Station.

This isn't your typical sushi restaurant, it's a rotating sushi bar!
You just reach in and grab the sushi or Japanese dish you want, no waiting.

The prices all range from $1.25 - $6.25 based on the color of the plate you select.

The chef's do a great job at keeping the rotating bar well stocked.  There are also dishes that can be ordered fresh, such as Calamari.
Don't forget dessert!

Here are some of the dishes we tried.  We decided this was the best time to be more adventurous and try some things we don't normally select.

Trust me, everything tasted as good as it looks in the pictures.  We ended our meal with a total of 9 plates that came to $33 for two people! Can't beat that.  If you are in Chicago, Sushi Station is definitely worth the few miles trip Northwest of the city.

Light Wash

I've already done the different denim washes here, so this time I thought I'd do the same wash and I think I kind of like it better.  What's your favorite way to wear denim on denim, mix it or keep it the same?

My Kind of Suiting

I'm not really a suit kind of girl even though I work in the corporate world.  I usually find them kind of boring and restrictive.  But when you mix separates in bold colors and add funky accessories, it's not so bad.

Printed

I love a good print, abstract being my preference.  I grabbed this dress last week from Macy's clearance rack for $25.  Nothing like the ease of a dress and a pair of heels.

Back To Black

Do you ever go through a phase where you feel so uninspired with fashion and nothing is moving you in the stores?  Well that is where I'm at right now.  Maybe it's because of this crazy up and down weather where it's difficult to figure out what to wear without freezing or eventually taking layers off.  But I'm going to be doing some shopping with my cousin on Saturday, so maybe I can get back into the swing of things then.

I want to say a big hello and thank you to all my new blog followers and my faithful readers/lurkers/commenters.  Also I want to say I appreciate all the personal emails I receive and the encouragement, so refreshing that you take time out to communicate with me and I will always respond back to you.
Everyone have a pleasant weekend, I have a busy one ahead of me.

My Home - Kitchen

My kitchen area is very efficient and has everything I need within reach.
Instead of cramming so many items in the cabinets, I purchased these two shelves from Home Depot ($19 each) to free up space throughout the entire kitchen.
Bowl Set (Target), Placemats/Coasters (Ikea), TicTacToe Set/"Recycle Bin" (Homegoods)
Octagon/White Plate/Straw Holder (CB2), Hour glass/Green Bottle/Green Towels (Homegoods), Basket (Pier 1)
Hanging mobile from CB2.
Tea cups purchased in Japan.
You guys already know I'm obsessed with vinyl wall decals.  They are great for rental apartments since they are easy to remove and won't damage the walls.
I love the amount of counter space I have to prep food and cook.
Storage containers are from Ikea.
Shot glass collection from travels and gifted.

Exercise

On top of eating healthy, staying physically fit is important to me.  Getting some form of exercise or cardio is not only good for weight loss/maintaining but for overall heart health.  I also feel way more energetic when I workout regularly.
So here is my little fitness routine that works for me.  As someone who hates the gym and all the drama that comes with it (see unwanted attention, gross habits, etc), having an exercise machine I can use at home is a huge help.  This "In Motion "eliptical machine is compact and fits under my chair.  I pull it out for 30 minutes every other day with my weights.  Now I'm not saying I don't miss a day here and there, but for the most part I try to stay active.  And now that it's warming up I can get out and ride my bike more as well.

How do you stay physically active and healthy?

At Home - Random Monday Night

I took these pictures Monday night in my living room while watching The Voice.  Anybody else watch the show?

While all the girls scream over Adam, I'm team Blake. ; )

Last week on my walk home I found a cute little flower shop and purchased these fragrant flowers.  My plan is to keep flowers throughout the Spring & Summer on my table.  Such a great mood lifter.
The space where my black chairs are I plan to add a small dining table.  I find myself wanting to actually sit down and eat my meals as opposed to standing at my kitchen island.
I like this round table from CB2 and how simple and sleek it is.  I think adding the white will lighten up some of the black furniture in the room.

Photos of my kitchen are coming soon, so stay tuned for that.

Green & Blue

Hello there my dear readers!  I have been busy at home rearranging, getting rid of things, and organizing like crazy.  Feels so good to freshen things up after a long winter.  I hope to have new pictures of my living space and kitchen posted soon.
Oh and I washed my hair this morning and got my hair into a high puff ponytail, yes!
