Blue Crop

So in love with these blue crop pants from Target I purchased recently for $24.99.  Bold colored pants are really on trend this season, especially colored denim.  I like this option though because I can wear it to the office without breaking the "no denim except for Friday's" rule.

I'm getting some Fatima vibes from this look and I kind of like it.

Foodie Love - Hub 51

Last week was Chicago Restaurant Week.  So on Saturday a couple of friends and I headed to Hub 51, an Asian-Mexican fusion restaurant.

Hub 51 is located in Chicago's River North neighborhood.  A touristy area full of restaurants and bars. 

The inside is industrial and cool with exposed heating ducts, stone walls, dark drapery, and low lighting. 

Funny enough, we all decided to forgo the Restaurant Week $33 menu and order ala carte. 

Started with my favorite Blue Moon beer. 

From 3 - 6 p.m. every day, they have half price sushi, so we wanted to take advantage of that.

A Thai Basil Roll and Shrimp & Crab Roll were pretty good.

 

My friend's order of Fish Taco's, which I tasted and the mahi mahi fish was excellent.  I'm getting this next time. 

My other friend's rubbed ribs which she said were tasty as well. 

And then I ordered the pulled chicken nachos, which I was warned would be huge.  And even though we shared it, so much was still left over. 

And here are me and my girls.  

Notice anything?  I changed my jewelery (put on hoops and removed the necklaces) right before I left and put a butterfly pin on the hat.

The scarf around my neck wasn't really my style, so I decided to wrap a scarf around my head instead.

Pleated

It's so good to be back feeling like my old self again.  The well wishes from you guys were very thoughtful and really made me feel better. 

After purchasing this dress last summer, I really want more pleated skirts and dresses.  I'm noticing the stores are stocking up with them, so I'll definitely be on the lookout.  I think the key is to have the small pleats to keep it young and modern.

Not So Simple

I totally intended to wear this white button down tunic all alone, go the simple route, but I just couldn't.  I'm such a fan of layering with vests, sweaters, jackets, you name it, I just have to do it.  And I'm living in these leggings these days so I hope you guys don't tire of seeing them.

To The Ballet

I wore this to the Russian ballet on Saturday to see Romeo & Juliet.  Very nice show and going to a ballet was on my list of things to do for a very long time.  Up next I hope to see an Italian Opera.

Anyway, I have a sore ankle so I was forced to wear flats, otherwise I would have definitely stepped out in heels.
