How I Layer

Layering in Winter is one of my favorite things to do.  I don't always want to wear a big down or puffy coat, so this post will show you one of the ways I like to layer with style.

The base

1st layer - A thick knit cardigan tied with an obi belt.

Add a circle/infinity scarf to protect the neck from exposure.

Add a leather jacket on top of the cardigan.

Complete the layered look with a faux fur vest.

Neon

This asymmetrical tunic is another Forever 21 find from my mini haul a few days ago.  I was really drawn to the cut, the fabric, and color of it.  It's nice to bring some brightness to an otherwise dreary season.

Colored Lines

I don't normally find many things in Forever 21 as it can be a bit overwhelming.  But this dress was a last minute find as I was checking out at the register.  It was on display and I went over and saw it was my size and took it right off the hanger. 

Maxi dresses of course can be worn in all seasons, and since it's winter I paired this sleeveless one with a cardigan, boots, and knit hat.

Bow Tie

Lately I've been so inspired to rock this bow tie I've have for a few months.  So many fabulous ladies around blog land are rocking them, so I decided to pull mine out and give it some Sing flare.

  I came across this chandelier yesterday on a random trip to Urban Outfitters.  At first I had my heart set on a black shade crystal chandelier, but I think at $58 bucks this one wins.

This gold one will add the right amount of elegance and glam the bedroom needs.

By the way, it's much prettier in person.  Can't wait to pick this up tonight and hang it up.

I debated going the classic route with this outfit with pearls and a dressier hat, but decided to switch it up and go the bohemian route and I kind of dig it.

Do Something New In One Two

Every year I make up a slogan, so my mission for this year is to just do or experience something new.

During my time off I made some improvements to my living room since my style is changing.  I find myself drawn to softer textiles and craving a more simple look overall in my home. 

So that meant editing things and getting some new stuff.  In the background you can see my new flokati pillows from Target on the couch, new curtains from Anna's Linens for the winter months.  It's amazing how those two changes make the room feel completely different.  Pictures of the entire living room coming soon.
