Lunch Time Snaps - Marilyn Blows In To Town

Marilyn Monroe and her famous dress blew up into the Windy City recently and is leaving quite a 26ft tall impression on the locals and tourists.  The opinions about it are endless, with some saying it's useless, tasteless and others thinking it's just downright cool.

This is her famous scene from the movie The Seven Year Itch and like it or not, this statue will be in Chicago for at least a year.

Yummy Yellow

As previously mentioned here and here, I attended a Vintage Bazaar back in May and purchased three pieces.  This yellow shirt dress was the last find, and boy what a find! 

By the time I found this vendor selling this dress I was all out of cash and to my horror she didn't have a credit card machine.  Knowing just how much I wanted the dress, the vendor asked me how much money I had.  I replied, "You don't want to know," because I didn't want to insult her.  She said, "try me."  I looked in my wallet and counted the coins I had and told her I had eighty cents.  To my delight and surprise, she sold it to me because the dress had been in their shop for so long and she just wanted to get rid of it.  EIGHTY CENTS folks, eighty cents!  I can't believe that it hadn't sold.  Well I had a vision for this lovely, especially since I have a pink one just like it.  This style of dress is just my type.

Traveling Back In Time

Traveling is something that is a huge part of my life.  On my vacations I seek out new experiences, shopping deals, good food, adventure, and lots of culture.  Today I thought I'd take a look back and show you just some of the places I've been to.

Four Days

Greetings my friends.  I'm enjoying my four day weekend since I took Friday off.  It's been pretty busy and I'm headed back out to a BBQ in a few but I didn't want to leave you guys too long without a post.
