Sit Down Low

When considering seating options for your home, sometimes a regular couch or a chaise lounge can be boring or just too expensive.
And if you like the low seating lounge feel, consider using a bed for seating. All done on a budget of course, with a twin or full size mattress.

Use a simple bed frame & mattress or a box spring & mattress placed on the floor and pair with a glam duvet to cover it, completed with pillows.
For something really low, go for shipping slates/palettes to put your bed on. The exposed raw wood would look great in an industrial type loft.
Consider covering your bed with a white cotton or jersey fitted sheet and white pillows for an airy light feel, perfect for a sun room or guest room.
And how easy would it be to wash and keep clean!
How cozy is this small bed like frame, perfect for lounging by the fireplace.
Consider using a twin mattress or smaller child's size mattress for this chaise look.

How cool is this Moroccan style setup up with loads of colorful pillows.
The options are endless when you change your coverings and pillows.

Put your signature style on it by placing a bed on unexpected objects like tree trunks, shipping materials or other strong solid materials from a junk yard or given away free on your local Craigslist.

Just Pose

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors in clothing and home decor.
Lipstick - Mac St. Germain
Liner - Mac Nightmoth
Jacket - Nabi
Blouse - The Limited
Skirt - Random
Steve Madden Pumps - DSW

You've seen this jacket previously, this time I didn't feel too dressed up in it for work. Still want to try it out with jeans and a plain tee.

Military Style

I reached for the easiest, simpliest thing in my closet this morning.
Mondays you just want to get moving and get it over with.

Military Inspired Shirt Dress - Gap
Bandolino Sandals - Marshall's

My mom asked me today why I wore so many bangles/braclets.
I told her it's a style thing. She said that would be so annoying to her.
Gotta love mom's.
Here's to hoping this week goes by fast so we can enjoy another long weekend.

And sweets and wine on another friends patio Sunday.

Tank - Kohls

All in all a very relaxing weekend.
Do you know who my look was inspired by from a previous post?

Jump For Joy

There is something so easy about jumpers and rompers (doesn't that sound juvenille) when it's hot.
I found this pant jumper at Buffalo Exchange. It has a maxi dress look.
Belt - Pitaya
Sandals - Nine West
Love the tribal pattern and the neutral color of these sandals.
Check out the red beads on the zipper in the back.

Guess

Yesterday I wanted to wear something that could transition from office to a Guess/Lucky Magazine event I went to in the evening.

So leggings with tunic and belt it was (wore flat gladiator sandals instead of the Nine West booties).

We got to try on anything in the store and take a professional photo, which I'll post once it's released.

Here are some shots me and friend Cea snapped.

We both are wearing sweaters/blazers and shoes from Guess with our own clothes.

Close up of the cute lace buckle booties Cea tried on and loved.

P.S. For all that guessed the Lime Skirt, I'll be wearing that soon, so stay tuned.

Little Black Dress

Every woman needs a LBD, it's a style staple. In the winter I can easily wear this with tights, boots and a blazer or cardigan.

I found this shirt dress at Buffalo Exchange (Buy/Sell/Trade store).

It has so many details that I loved. The kimono-like sleeves, the brass clasp closure on the cargo pockets and the perfect structure at the waist.

Dress - Buffalo Exchange
Earrings & Bracelets - Chicago & NY Random Jewelry Warehouses
Guess Wedges - Filene's Basement
Bag - The Limited

Lips by Mac
Night Moth Lip Liner, Electro & Girl About Town mixed

It's heating up here in Chicago and that = dresses and skirts.
Have a good day everyone.
